Rosetten und Lebensbäume / Rosettes and Trees of Life

This piece is based on excerpts from publications by the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin concerned with the development of dorsal vertebrae in embryos. In the drawings, the texts correspond with shapes – rosettes and trees of life – found in an embroidery sample cloth of 1811.
In addition, “Parallel Laboratory” is a related collaboration piece with Kathrin von Lehmann and Eva-Maria Schön. The project has been evolving from 2011 to 2016 in the canteen of the Max Planck Institute in Berlin.
